WHS CELEBRATES
VETERANS DAY


On November 11, 2008 Westbrook High School honored local veterans with an assembly and concert. This year’s program featured keynot speed by WHS Junior Bridget Galiger and a performance by the “Storm King Brass Quintet” from the United States Military Academy Band at West Point. Honored at the program were a host of local veterans including school staff who have served in the military. Special thanks to Mr. Ken Savage for organizing the day's oberservance. WHS Votes!

WHS Students cast their ballots in a mock election on Monday. Students voted in their mentor groups. The effort was coordinated by Civics teacher Derek Hanssen and Library-Media Specialist Nicole Giangrecco.

Out of 302 voters, the results from the WHS mock election were:

McKinney 2 .7%
Nadar 18 6%
McCain 82 27.1%
Obama 196 64.9%

Obama is WHS’s mock president.
