Library-Media
Disclaimer: The Westbrook Public Schools Library-Media curriculum is currently undergoing a revision. During the summer of 2026, curriculum writing began with the PreK–5 Library-Media Curriculum Map. Curriculum maps for the remaining grade levels will be developed and published as this work continues.
Library Policy: In addition to the curriculum revision, the district is reviewing and updating Library-Media policies and procedures to ensure alignment with Connecticut Public Act 25-168, Section 321(D). This legislation establishes requirements for school library policies, including the development of procedures related to library collection development and maintenance, library displays and programs, and a formal process for the review and reconsideration of library materials. These requirements support consistent practices for evaluating and maintaining library collections while ensuring access to resources that meet the educational needs of students.
