Social studies offers our students a chance to better understand the world in which we live, to increase their respect for different cultures and peoples, and to recognize the commonalities amongst us.
Elementary
Disclosure: Beginning in the summer of 2026, Daisy Ingraham Elementary School’s K - 2 Social Studies curriculum entered a full revision cycle designed to strengthen alignment, coherence, and instructional practices across grade levels. As part of this revision process, Grade 2 Social Studies curriculum writing was completed on July 29, 2026, Grade 1 on August 7, 2026, and Kindergarten on August 22, 2026.
This work builds upon the broader Social Studies curriculum revision cycle that began in July 2023. During the initial phase of the revision process, Grades 3 and 4 were updated as of July 28, 2023, and revised instructional strategies were implemented during the 2023 - 2024 school year.
