Physical Education

The Westbrook Public Schools PreK - 12 Physical Education curriculum was last formally adopted by the Board of Education in 2018. The district is currently engaged in a comprehensive revision process beginning in the 2025 - 2026 school year using a backward design model to ensure alignment with current standards, assessment practices, and student outcomes.
As part of this process, the high school curriculum (Grades 9–12) was developed first to establish clear end goals for student learning, which will guide the revision and alignment of middle and elementary programs. This phased approach is intended to create a cohesive and vertically aligned PreK - 12 Physical Education program.
