Elementary Science
Disclaimer 1: The elementary school science curriculum, beginning with robotics, is actively under revision and the first project was completed on August 18, 2023, which was the K - 4 Robotics Curriculum Map. The entire Robotics curriculum for both VEX-Go and VEX 1-2-3, has began and is scheduled to be completed by June 2026.
Disclaimer 2: Daisy Ingraham Elementary School is entering its eighth year of using the FOSS NGSS science kits. Westbrook follows the FOSS Pathways pacing guide (see graphic below), which outlines the instruction of three science units per grade, from kindergarten through fifth grade. Beginning in the summer of 2025, the elementary science curriculum will be written and finalized, starting with fifth grade, which was completed on June 27, 2025 and will serve as the model. The full K–5 science curriculum is expected to be completed by September 2025.
