Social studies offers our students a chance to better understand the world in which we live, to increase their respect for different cultures and peoples, and to recognize the commonalities amongst us.
Elementary
Disclosure: Starting in July of 2023, Daisy Ingraham Elementary School's Social Studies curriculum began its revision cycle, which will span two summers. As of July 28, 2023, grades three and four were updated and such instructional strategies will be implemented during the 2023 - 2024 school year.
The curriculum writing for grades kindergarten, first, and second will be tabled for the following summer of 2024. However, the previously adopted curriculum for those three grades will serve as a reference for the intermediate time frame. If you have any questions about this project, please contact the Director of Teaching and Learning at asaba@westbrookctschools.org. Thanks!
